| Mayor, Council Sworn Into Office |
| November 5, 2012 At a little after 10 a.m., City Clerk Cathy Dickerson opened the Organizational Meeting of the 2012-2016 City Council by asking Reverend Algie Morgan, of Father, Son & Holy Ghost Church, to render the invocation. At the conclusion of his blessing upon the City, our elected officials and the residents of Prattville, Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. was sworn into his first full term of office by the Honorable Rob Riddle, City Prosecutor for the City of Prattville.
Mayor Gillespie made remarks after taking the oath of office. He thanked his family, friends, supporters, Department Heads and employees. His message carried a theme of working together, staying engaged and moving our great City forward. City Councilors were then took the oath of office in order of district:
The newly sworn in City Council moved into Executive Session to select a Council President. The Council nominated and unanimously voted Councilor Willie Wood, Jr. to be the Council President. After voting on the two agenda items, Councilors made remarks and then everyone moved out to enjoy refreshments and fellowship with one another.
