CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
SPECIAL SESSION
FRIDAY, JULY 8, 2005
3:00 P.M.

The Prattville City Council met in special session on Friday, July 8th at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Roll was called and all were recorded as being present.

AGENDA ITEM

1. RESOLUTION: TO PROCLAIM THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY. (RESOLUTION BOOK 2005, PAGE 084).

Councilman Miller made the motion to adopt the Resolution and Councilman Gillespie seconded the motion. During discussion, Mayor Byard gave an update from the 10:00 a.m. EMA briefing this morning regarding Hurricane Dennis. He invited members of the Council to a scheduled briefing at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon. The Mayor stated that the City department heads would meet again on Saturday morning following a 10:00 a.m. EMA briefing. Mayor Byard also stated his plans to announce a dusk til dawn curfew to go into effect Sunday evening.

There being no further discussion, the Resolution was adopted with the following results:

AYES: GILLESPIE, WOOD, MILLER, ARGO, RENEGAR, MACREADY, FANK 7
NAYS: NONE 0
ABSTAINED: NONE 0
ABSENT: NONE 0

At 3:07 p.m. Councilman Macready made the motion to go into executive session and Councilman Gillespie seconded the motion. All were in favor (7-0). At 5:00 p.m. Councilman Renegar made the motion to go back into regular session and Councilman Macready seconded the motion. All were in favor (7-0).

It is necessary to go into executive session with the City Attorney to discuss the good name and character of a person.

ADJOURN:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Macready made the motion to adjourn and Councilman Fank seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 5:00 p.m.
