CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
SPECIAL SESSION
TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2005
5:15 P.M.

The Prattville City Council met in special session on Tuesday, August 30th at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Roll was called and Councilmen Wood and Macready were recorded as being absent.

AGENDA ITEM

1. RESOLUTION: TO ESTABLISH AN EDUCATIONAL COOPERATIVE DISTRICT. (RESOLUTION BOOK 2005, PAGE 099).

The Resolution was held from the August 16th council meeting. During discussion, Councilman Argo stated that he had spoken with Mayor Byard, Superintendent of Education Larry Butler, Merchant Capital Representative Reid Cavnar, and Ken Roberts, who serves as Finance Officer for the Autauga County Board of Education.

Mr. Cavnar reiterated the fact that the City will not incur any debt and once the City Council approves the Resolution for the creation of the cooperative district, the City is removed from the process.

Councilman Miller noted that two of the board members have addresses listed in the same district. He questioned Mr. Roberts if this information was correct. Mr. Robertson stated that he did not know, but he assured Councilman Miller that he would follow up on this issue.

There being no further discussion, the Resolution was adopted with the following results:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Renegar made the motion to adjourn and Councilman Fank seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 5:28 p.m.
