PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2006

CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, January 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Roll was called and Councilmember Wood was recorded as being absent.

1. ORDINANCE: To Rezone Property Located on Peachtree Street from R-6 to B-1.

Mr. Cliff Watson, 210 Deerwood Drive, Prattville, AL, 36067 appeared before the Council to speak in favor of this Ordinance. His intentions are to move his construction company office to this location and to plant vegetation between his property and neighboring homes to improve the overall appearance of the area. Councilman Gillespie expressed his concerns for additional traffic on Peachtree and the possible noise of heavy construction equipment. Mr. Watson assured the Council that the equipment would only be stored on location when not in use on a construction site.

Mr. Duke informed the Council that the original request was to rezone to B-2, General Business, but the Planning Commission had recommended it be rezoned to B-1, Neighborhood Commercial.

No one appeared in opposition to the rezoning request.

ADJOURN: There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Macready made the motion to adjourn and the motion was seconded. The meeting closed at 6:15 p.m.
