PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 2006

CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, June 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Argo called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilmen Miller and Fank were recorded as being absent.

AGENDA

1. ORDINANCE: REQUEST TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED AT OLD FARM LANE AND COVERED BRIDGE PARKWAY ADJACENT TO PLANTATION APARTMENTS FROM B-2/O-1 TO R-4.

No one appeared before the Council in favor of or opposition to the proposed Ordinance.

City Planner Joel Duke stated that the Prattville Planning Commission recommended approval of the rezoning.

2. ORDINANCE: REQUEST TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED AT COUNTY ROAD 4 NEXT TO BUENA VISTA FROM FAR TO R-3 AND R-5.

No one appeared in opposition to the proposed Ordinance.

Mr. Greg Gillian, representative of Larry Speaks and Associates, Inc. appeared before the Council in favor of the rezoning request.

City Planner Joel Duke stated that the Prattville Planning Commission approved the rezoning request on May 16th. He further stated that the property is not currently in the city limits and therefore it is his request that the City Council hold this Ordinance from the 7:00 p.m. meeting this evening until its regular meeting on June 20th before council action is considered.

Councilman Renegar questioned Mr. Duke as to the reason that no annexation for this property was on the agenda this evening. Mr. Duke stated that there is a Resolution on the 7:00 p.m. Council Agenda which allows the Mayor to petition the City of Prattville for annexation of property in the South Industrial Park, which is adjacent to the proposed property. In addition, Mr. Duke stated that once the South Industrial Park is annexed, an annexation request for the proposed property will follow.

ADJOURN:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Macready made a motion to adjourn and the motion was seconded. The meeting closed at 6:10 p.m.
