| PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Thursday, July 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Argo called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilmen Miller and Macready were recorded as being absent. AGENDA 1. RESOLUTION: TO DECLARE VARIOUS WEEDED LOTS TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR ABATEMENT PER §11-67-1 ET. SEQ., OF THE CODE OF ALABAMA, 1975, AS AMENDED. Mr. Kenneth Ragan, 152 Chester Street, Prattville, AL 36066, appeared before the Council regarding his property at 279 Gardner Road, which is one of the properties listed in this Resolution. Mr. Ragan stated that he has complied with the City Code by cutting the grass and shrubbery on his property. Councilmen Miller and Macready arrived at 6:03 p.m. Mr. Ross Smith, 123 Debra Street, Prattville, AL 36066, came before the Council and stated that his property has been brought up to City Code and further stated that he has hired a licensed lawn care service to cut his lawn for the remainder of the growing season. 2. RESOLUTION: TO GRANT A LOUNGE RETAIL LIQUOR LICENSE CLASS I FOR JERRY D. AND PRISCILLA R. ADAMS, D/B/A COCONUTS. No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the proposed Resolution. 3. RESOLUTION: TO GRANT A LOUNGE, CLASS II PACKAGE STORE LICENSE FOR WILLIAM E. AND TAMMY W. WARD, D/B/A THE CELLAR AND SUCH. Tammy Ward, applicant for the proposed business appeared before the Council to ask for Council support. She compared the Cellar and Such to a scaled down version of the World Market store in Montgomery. During discussion, Councilman Wood asked if she would be selling liquor and she stated that only a certain percentage of her square footage would be designated for liquor, which would be sold in large bottles. Mrs. Ward further stated that her store would cater to customers whose interests were geared more toward fine wines. Councilman Miller stated that the Ward’s store will go into the former ABC building. Mrs. Ward stated that the building has been totally remodeled and looks nothing like it did before. No one appeared in opposition to the application request. 4. ORDINANCE: TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED OFF BRIDGE CREEK ROAD NORTH OF DURDEN ROAD FROM FAR TO R-3. No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the Ordinance. City Planner Joel Duke stated that the Prattville Planning Commission recommended approval of the rezoning request at its May 18th meeting. ADJOURN: There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Macready made a motion to adjourn and Councilman Gillespie seconded the motion.
