| PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL
CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Pro-Tempore Miller called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Council President Argo was recorded as being absent. AGENDA
** Henry Bates-Appeal to Council for Dilapidated Structure for Property Located at 387 Hazel Street **
Mr. Bates failed to appear before the Council.
1. ORDINANCE: TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED ON COUNTY ROAD 4 EAST OF BUENA VISTA FROM R-2 TO R-5.
No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the Ordinance. City Planner Joel Duke stated that the Planning Commission agreed with the plans for the rezoning. Councilman Gillespie expressed his desire to see that developers be held to their original plans.
2. ORDINANCE: TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED OFF OF UPPER KINGSTON ROAD AT 1234 UPPER KINGSTON ROAD FROM FAR TO R-3.
No one appeared in favor or opposition to the Ordinance. City Planner Joel Duke stated that the Planning Commission recommends approval of this rezoning request. Councilman Gillespie questioned if there are any drainage issues in this area and Mr. Duke stated that there are but those issues will be addressed during the rezoning. Councilman Wood questioned where the new pipe will run and Mr. Duke stated that it will run behind Kenwood Court and connect to Kingston Green. 3. RESOLUTION: TO DECLARE VARIOUS WEEDED LOTS TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR ABATEMENT PER TITLE 11, CHAPTER 67 OF THE CODE OF ALABAMA, 1975, AS AMENDED.
No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the Resolution. City Planner Joel Duke stated that all four properties remain in violation of the City Code and requested that the Council move forward with abatement of the property. Councilman Wood questioned Mr. Duke about the proximity of 1264 Upper Kingston Road, which is listed on this weeded lot Resolution, to the proposed rezoning at 1234 Upper Kingston Road. Mr. Duke stated that it is very close to the Jamestown property. 4. RESOLUTION: TO GRANT A RESTAURANT RETAIL LIQUOR LICENSE TO BASS PRO OUTDOOR WORLD, LLC. D/B/A ISLAMORADA FISH COMPANY.
Attorney Peck Fox, 201 Monroe Street, Montgomery, AL 36104, appeared before the Council on behalf of the Bass Pro Company in favor of the license application. No one appeared in opposition to the Resolution.
ADJOURN:
There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Macready made a motion to adjourn and Councilman Fank seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 6:15 p.m. APPROVED:
