PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, MARCH 4, 2008

CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Argo called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilmen Gillespie, Miller and Fank were recorded as being absent.

AGENDA

APPEAL TO COUNCIL REGARDING DEMOLITION OF DILAPIDATED HOUSING: 1159 OLD HIGHWAY 31, OWNED BY CARRIE L. THAGGARD.

Councilman Macready reported that the trailers have been removed from the property but there is still a lot of trash that has not been cleared. There is a house currently on the property that appears to be habitable. He is willing to give the property owner an additional thirty days from the following council meeting.

Council President Argo told the council that the property owner had submitted a letter requesting an additional forty-five days, which would be what is granted including the coming two weeks before the next council meeting.

City Planner, Joel Duke stated that he has no problem with granting the extension. Ms. Thaggard has been very cooperative and willing to clear the property and presented pictures of the current state of the property.

Council President Argo stated that Councilman Macready would sponsor an agenda request to grant the extension prior to the next council meeting which will be prepared by Joel Duke.

Ms. Thaggard called prior to the meeting to say that she was delayed in traffic but did not arrive before the meeting adjourned.

Council President Argo recognized James Duke, a 3rd grader in attendance from Daniel Pratt Elementary School.

ADJOURN:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Macready made a motion to adjourn and Councilman Renegar seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 6:15 p.m.
