 PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL
CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Argo called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilmen Gillespie and Miller were recorded as being absent. AGENDA 1. ORDINANCE: REQUEST TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE EXCHANGE, SOUTH OF CHURCH OF CHRIST OF LDS FROM PUD TO B-2.
No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the Ordinance. City Planner Joel Duke stated that this property is located just west of Outback Steakhouse and was approved by the Prattville Planning Commission at its June 19th meeting. Councilman Gillespie arrived at 6:02 p.m. 2. ORDINANCE: REQUEST TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1795 AND 1797 COOTER’S POND ROAD FROM FAR TO B-1.
Cynthia Brightwell, 3260 Woodmere Drive, appeared before the Council to urge support for the Ordinance. She stated her plans to open a Bait Shop in the location. City Planner Joel Duke stated that the property is currently a vacant lot behind the Pine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. Councilman Renegar asked for clarification that a Bait and Tackle Shop had been in that location in previous years. Mr. Duke stated that he was correct but it was prior to the area being annexed into the city and the building has been vacant for more than a year.
3. RESOLUTION: TO DECLARE VARIOUS WEEDED LOTS TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR ABATEMENT PER TITLE 11, CHAPTER 67 OF THE CODE OF ALABAMA, 1975, AS AMENDED.
No one appeared in favor or opposition to the Resolution. City Planner Joel Duke gave a report of the properties that have not been brought up to code.

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Renegar made a motion to adjourn and Councilman Macready seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 6:10 p.m. APPROVED:
