CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Pro Tempore Miller called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilmen Argo and Renegar were recorded as being absent. AGENDA
RESOLUTION: TO DECLARE VARIOUS WEEDED LOTS TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ODERING THEIR ABATEMENT PER TITLE 11, CHAPTER 67 OF THE CODE OF ALABAMA, 1975, AS AMENDED. Andrew and Harriett Hobbs, 1280 Adell Street, Prattville, AL appeared before the Council in favor of this Resolution. They are neighbors to the property listed at 1274 Adell Street where they reportedly have extremely high grass and cats are dragging rodents from the overgrown property onto her porch and driveway. They stated that the property owner had sprayed the property with Roundup, that didn’t kill everything, but also presented a fire hazard. Mr. Hobbs assured the Council that neighbors have tried to help, but the property owner is adamant about not having persons on his property. Noah Poe, 803 Hampstead Court, Prattville, AL appeared before the Council to notify them of the property located at 317 Cambridge Court which is overgrown due to not being cut last year or this year. Councilman Wood asked City Planner, Joel Duke, to assure them that all requirements have been met regarding notification to the property owners listed in the Resolution, to which Mr. Duke assured him that they have been met. ADJOURN:
There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Fank made a motion to adjourn and the motion was seconded. The meeting closed at 6:08 p.m. APPROVED:
