PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2009

CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, June 16^th at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Pro-Tempore Miller called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Council President Argo was recorded as being absent.

AGENDA

1. RESOLUTION: TO DECLARE VARIOUS WEEDED LOTS TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR ABATEMENT PER TITLE 11, CHAPTER 67 OF THE CODE OF ALABAMA, 1975, AS AMENDED.

No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the Resolution.

City Planner Joel Duke stated that all properties listed in the Resolution had been brought up to code with the exception of 639 Woodvale Road and 1698 Twelve Oaks Lane.

Councilman Renegar questioned what steps the City would take to follow up on this issue. Mr. Duke stated that City forces or contractors would clean up the properties and a lien would be placed against the property. He further reminded Councilman Renegar that property owners generally take necessary action to bring their property up to code before it gets to this stage. However, if they do not comply, the Planning Department will come back before the Council with a Resolution to recoup the cost of cleanup from the property owners.

ADJOURN:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Renegar made the motion to adjourn and Councilman Boles seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 6:02 p.m.
