PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JUNE 1, 2010
6:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Doster Memorial Community Center. Council President Argo called the meeting to order. Roll was called and all were recorded as being present.

AGENDA

1. ORDINANCE: REQUEST TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2189/2181 COBBS FORD ROAD FROM B-4, HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL AND FAR, FOREST, AGRICULTURAL AND RECREATION TO B-2, GENERAL BUSINESS.

Wayne Gibson, Manager of Special Projects for Murphy Oil Co., 422 North Washington (71730) P.O. Box 7000, El Dorado, AR 71731-7000, appeared before the Council to urge support for the request to rezone.

Rev. Rick Mason, 395 Kingston Ridge Road, Pastor of the Lutheran Church located next to the property, which is proposed to be rezoned, appeared before the Council in opposition to the request. He stated that he’s not so opposed to the idea of a gasoline station/store being constructed next door but rather the idea of alcohol being sold within 500’ of his church.

ADJOURN:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Renegar made a motion to adjourn and Councilman Fank seconded the motion. The meeting closed at 6:06 p.m.
