The Prattville City Council held a work session on Tuesday, September 28th at 5:30 p.m. at Doster Memorial Community Center, 424 South Northington Street, Prattville, AL 36067.

The meeting was called to order by Council President Dean Argo. Mayor Byard and City Attorney David McDowell were recorded as being present as well as the following department heads: City Engineer Robby Anderson, IT Director Brad Belden, Sanitation Director Edward Clinton, Cultural Arts Director Kellie Cook, Wastewater Superintendent Kenny DeRamus, Planning Director Joel Duke, Fire Chief Stanley Gann, Finance Director Rod Morgan, Mayor’s Assistant Sheila Morrissette, Leisure Services Director Drew Peterson, Interim Vehicle Maintenance Director Kenny Rawlinson, City Clerk Gina P. Smith, Human Resources Director Lisa Thrash, Police Chief Alfred Wadsworth, and Street Superintendent George Williams.

The media was represented by Marty Roney with the Montgomery Advertiser.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the FY 2010-2011 budget.

At the close of the meeting, Council President Argo announced that a Public Hearing regarding the budget will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall immediately following a 15-20 minute break. Questions submitted by citizens will be read along with the answers at the Public Hearing. Citizens will be allowed to speak for 3 minutes at the conclusion of the question and answer session.

There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made to adjourn and the motion was seconded. The meeting closed at 5:45 p.m.
