In cities of more than 6,000, State Code mandates that the City Council elect a City Clerk who shall hold office until the next general municipal election. The City Clerk serves until re-appointed, or a successor is elected. The City Clerk's office prepares ordinances and resolutions proposed for introduction or awaiting final Council consideration, prepares agendas for City Council meetings, keeps minutes of the meetings and publicizes the business of the City as required. The City Clerk also serves as custodian of the City's records and handles municipal elections. David A. McDowell City Attorney Contact should be made through the City Clerk's Office |
