Defendant Instructions

If you are charged with any of the following cases, you may pay BEFORE THE COURT DATE by mailing your payment in full along with your copy of the ticket with your signature on the back, or you may appear in person BEFORE THE COURT DATE at the Municipal Court Office, Room 111, 101 West Main Street, Prattville, Al 36067, to plead guilty to the charge and pay your fine. IF YOU FAIL TO ENTER YOUR PLEA AND PAY YOUR FINE BEFORE THE COURT DATE, YOU MUST APPEAR IN COURT ON THE DATE AND TIME WRITTEN ON YOUR TRAFFIC TICKET.

If you enter a plea of "not guilty", or any other plea, you will receive a court order in Municipal Court of the date and time of your trial. If you are indigent and request a court-appointed attorney, and the Court is of the opinion that a conviction may result in a jail term as a part of your penalty, the Court will appoint an attorney to represent you without charge to you.
