Dog Control PDF Print E-mail

The City of Prattville strictly enforces its leash law for dogs, which states that dogs must be confined or controlled upon a leash. Dogs must not be allowed to run free. The City appoints a Dog Warden, who is based at the Autauga Humane Shelter. This person is responsible for enforcing the leash law ordinance within the Prattville city limits. There is no ordinance for cats.

Should a dog be picked up by the Dog Warden, the animal will be taken to the Autauga Humane Shelter on Reuben Road. For information about reclaiming your dog, or to have an animal picked up within the city limits, call the Humane Shelter at 358-2882.
