Firearms Classes are over for 2011. Please check back in February to be able to register for 2012 classes. Thank you!The Prattville Police Department's Firearms Training Unit is currently offering a Firearms Safety & Familiarization Course for civilians as weather permits. The classes run on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. We will announce the date of the class at the beginning of the month. Instructors will be available at 8:30 a.m. to address registration issues and questions. Should the need arise for a rain date, one of the instructors will contact you. If you are unsure of the weather conditions, you may check the home page for an announcement that morning or you may call the desk sergeant at 361-3671. These classes are being offered free of charge. Although each class can only accommodate ten students, this will be an on-going program and everyone will get a chance to attend. In order to attend, you must complete the registration form. Once you have successfully registered, you will be contacted by an instructor with details of the class curriculum, directions to the firing range, and contact information. Any questions may be directed to the Prattville Police Department at 361-3671. You will be required to sign a liability release form the morning of your class before the session begins. Please remember, this is a familiarization course only, you will not be qualifying. Handguns only! If you have questions about your weapon or the caliber of your weapon, please contact one of our instuctors as noted at the bottom of this page.
