The Prattville Police Department's Firearms Training Unit is currently offering a Firearms Safety & Familiarization Course for civilians as weather permits. The classes run on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. We will announce the date of the class at the beginning of the month. Instructors will be available at 8:30 a.m. to address registration issues and questions. Should the need arise for a rain date, one of the instructors will contact you. If you are unsure of the weather conditions, you may check the home page for an announcement that morning or you may call the desk sergeant at 361-3671. There is a $10 fee beginning in April 2012 to attend the class. This nominal fee covers the cost of targets.

Beginning in 2013, each applicant must pass a criminal history check before attending this course. Anyone prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm will be deemed ineligible to attend.
