Martin Luther King Day Schedule
Sanitation will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2012. We will run Monday and Tuesday garbage routes on Tuesday, January 17th -- No trash will be picked up on that day. We will resume trash pickup on Wednesday, January 18th.

TheSanitation Department observes the following major holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday
  • Presidents' Day*
  • National Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day*
  • Veterans' Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

*These noted holidays are ones that the Sanitation Department usually chooses to work instead of observing the holiday. There will be a notation of this at the top of the page and on the home page if that is the case.

If a major holiday falls on a Saturday, the Sanitation Department will observe it on the preceding Friday. If the major holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday. Routes not collected due to holidays will be picked up the next business day along with the routes for that day. All routes will be collected the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Check the home page (Upcoming Events) for information regarding scheduling changes pursuant to a holiday.
