In order to help prevent the crime of shoplifting, the City of Prattville will implement the following for any person arrested for Theft of Property in the Third Degree:

• Go to Jail
• Must Have Proof of Identification
• $500 Cash Bond Only

The City of Prattville is thankful for the retail businesses in our community. The City is especially appreciative the shoppers that patronize our businesses. Our efforts are to reduce the crime of shoplifting from our retail stores while giving our shoppers a peace of mind while having a pleasant shopping experience. Thank you for shopping in Prattville.

During this holiday season the Prattville Police Department has taken specific actions in an effort to make your shopping experience in Prattville a pleasant one. This includes extra officers to patrol the shopping areas, specific patrol assignments, an observation tower, mobile command units, a mobile video camera unit, businesses walk through, and other specific actions. We are committed to preventing crime and making Prattville a safe place to shop. Please help by doing your part. If you see something suspicious, please call 911.
