Robbery of Business PDF Print E-mail

Prattville Police Department officers responded to Shoney’s on Cobbs Ford Road at 10:20 PM Sunday night for a reported robbery. A Black male armed with a pistol wearing all black clothing and with a hood on entered the business and robbed it. Two employees were struck in the head by the robber with the pistol. The employees received minor injury and were treated by paramedics. The robber fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

A witness at another business gave a description of a suspicious vehicle in the area. A patrol unit in the area stopped a vehicle fitting the description on US 82 Highway. This led to the arrest of Benjamin Lasean Bell, 25 years of age, of 904 County Road 113 in Prattville for robbery. The money and the handgun were located in the vehicle. A warrant for Robbery in the First Degree was signed for Benjamin Lasean Bell and bond was set at $60,000. He was in the Elmore County Jail.
