Senior Adult Programs

The Parks & Recreation Department provides a wide range of activities which appeal to all ages. For information concerning programs, fees charged and registration, check the calendar, navigate these pages or call 595-0840. You may also download the Registration Form.

Pre-registration is required. Unless otherwise noted, registration will be taken Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Department of Leisure Services Office, or you may call the office and request a registration form to be mailed. The City of Prattville Parks & Recreation Department provides equal opportunities for participation in programs without regard to race, sex or national origin.

COMPUTER CLASSES

GAMES DAY (& BRUNCH)

Dominoes, Mexican Dominoes, Rook, Pinochle and Canasta are some of the games we play. Join the fun! Refreshments available. FREE!

SENIOR ADULT MEALS

Lunch is offered Monday - Friday for seniors age 60 and up. Please call in advance to sign up for lunch.
The cost of the meal is $1.50 donation. Call 595-0841 for more information.

SENIOR ADULT TRIPS

  • Mayfest - Autaugaville Agricultural Pavilion
    May 6th, $2 for lunch. Call 595-0842 to reserve your spot.

  • Biscuits Baseball Game
    June 30th.
    Cost: $27 per person and includes admission, dinner and transportation. Leave from Gillespie Center at 5pm.
  • SAVE THE DATE. September 2-12, 2016. Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands & Black Hills of South Dakota.
    $935 per person based on double occupancy. 11 day trip includes visits to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park and more. $75 deposit due upon signing up, payment in full allows you to pick your bus seat. SENIOR ADULT DISTRICT MASTERS GAMES (50 & UP)

Regular dominoes, rook, checkers, shuffleboard, horseshoes, bowling, golf and much more. (Rules available at the Gillespie Senior Center). Show off your skills, win medals and bragging rights. Win and move to the state games level in Oxford. To register or for additional information call Kris 595-0842 or Betty 595-0803.

SENIOR ADULT FISH FEST

Ages 50 and up, lunch provided (hotdog and drink). Water available throughout the day.
When: Wednesday, May 25th from 7am-3pm
Where: Pratt Park Pond
Fee: 
$2 per person
Limit 7 fish per person. One pole in the water per person.

SENIOR WATER AEROBICS

Enjoy a class full of fun and exercise! Great for toning and cardio.
Starts on Monday, June 6th. Ages 50 & up. FREE! No pre-registration required. Must give medical information at first class.
When: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8:30-9:15 a.m.
Where: Pratt Pool

SILVER SNEAKERS

Great for arthritis, helps with strengthening, toning, balance, and maintain range of motion.
Wednesday & Friday, 1:00 p.m.
Where: Gillespie Senior Center

 

WEEKLY ONGOING CLASSES (all classes are held at the Gillespie Senior Center).

Arthritic Exercise: Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:00 p.m.
Bowling: Tuesdays, 1 p.m. at Bama Lanes
Bridge Club: Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m.
Exercise: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:15 - 10 a.m.
Fountain City Quilt Group: Monday, 1:00 p.m.
Line dancing: Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30 - 10 a.m.
Pinochle: Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.
