 Sex Offender Registration and Notification: Under State law, all persons convicted and incarcerated because of sex offense crimes must register with the Police and Sheriff's department in the city and county in which they plan to reside upon their release. Should the sex offender fail to register, they are subject to arrest. Certain restrictions are placed upon where a sex offender may reside. Persons living within 2,000 feet of the residence of the sex offender must be notified by mail of the address of the sex offender. The City of Prattville strictly adheres to this statute.
