1. Ages:

a. 14 - 18
b. 19 and Over
c. Age Control Date: December 31, of current year.

2. Register:

a. Participants must register at the City of Prattville – Department of Leisure Services, located at 424 S. Northington Street.
b. Registration forms must be filled out in the office before you can participate.
c. Registration forms are official when they are turned in completed to the Department of Leisure Services.
d. Be prepared to show proof of age.

3. Divisions:

a. Singles

i. 14 – 18
ii. 19 and Older

b. Doubles

i. 14 - 18 (both teammates have to be under 18 to be eligible)
ii. 19 and Older

c. Mixed Doubles

i. 14 – 18 (both teammates have to be under 18 to be eligible)
ii. 19 and Older

4. Requirements to Play:

a. $5.00 per person/$10.00 per team.
b. Fill out a registration form through the Department of Leisure Services.
c. You can play Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles as long as you sign up and pay for all that you wish to play.

5. Matches must be completed within a week

a. A week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday.
b. Matches can occur any day of the week within that week.
c. One challenge per week allowed.
d. Courts will be first come first serve.

6. Challenges Must be as follows:

a. Matches don't have to be played in Prattville

i. Both parties must agree to play outside of City of Prattville limits.

1. If one party does not agree to play within the City of Prattville limits, they lose the Challenge.

ii. If parties can't agree to site and date within that week the following will happen:

1. The lower ranked player will be allowed a challenge from the player directly below him/her.
2. The higher ranked player will not be allowed to challenge the next player on the ladder.
3. Player that does not accept the challenge or show up for said challenge will forfeit three spots on the ladder.

b. Challengers can only come from the player directly next to you in the rankings. For example: You can't challenge #1 if you are #5. You have to work your way up.
c. New players will be allowed any time. New players will be placed at the bottom of the ladder and will be able to challenge the player directly above him/her.
d. A challenge has to be responded to within three days or the player not responding will forfeit the match.
e. Only players showing up on the official web site are considered to be part of the Tennis Ladder.

7. Match will consist of one eight game pro-set

a. Must win by two.
b. If match is tied 8 – 8: a 12 point tie breaker is played to determine winner.

8. Scoring

a. Normal USTA scoring will be adhered to.

9. Winning player must call into the office, 361-3640, within a 24 hour period of the match and report the following:

a. Winner's Name
b. Opponent's Name
c. Score of Match in games
d. Day Match occurred
e. Site of Match

10. Equipment:

a. The challenger shall be responsible for providing the tennis balls.

i. Tennis balls must be in good shape; preferably brand new.

b. Each participant should provide his/her own tennis racket.
c. If a player breaks a racket or strings and does not have a backup to play with they forfeit the match.
d. Each participant will be responsible for providing his/her own water.

11. Any disputes will be handled by the Staff of the Prattville Department of Leisure Services. Disputes must be submitted in writing to drew.peterson@prattvilleal.gov within 24 hours of the said dispute. Both parties will be contacted to settle the dispute in a reasonable time frame.

12. Posting of Results:

a. The official standings and results of the matches will be posted on this page.
