Traffic Accident

For Immediate Release

August 23, 2010

A two vehicle accident this morning in Prattville has left a Selma man in critical condition. The accident at 6:29 am was at the intersection of Jensen Road and Co. Road 4. Augustus Newell, 44, of 2109 Kelly Road in Selma was driving a 1989 Honda Accord and was air lifted by Air Evac to Baptist South. Newell was traveling east on Co. Road 4 and failed to yield right-of-way to logging truck traveling north on Jensen Road that had just left International Paper. The driver of the logging truck was Antony Jones of Clayton, AL and he was not injured.
