The City of Prattville is keeping the good times rolling this Mardi Gras Season with Prattville's very own "Yardi Gras." Historic Downtown will light back up beginning the night of February 1st through February 16th. The City of Prattville will have lights featured on the covered bridge, creekside park, and other areas along Main Street in Historic Downtown Prattville. Instead of a traditional Mardi Gras parade, businesses and citizens are encouraged to decorate their storefronts, homes, and yards to celebrate the Mardi Gras season. Join the fun of this community-wide event and show off your festive décor.

Use the following link https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/KgPRv1H/YardiGras21 to sign up your business or home to be added to the "route" map for the 2021 "Yardi Gras" celebration by February 10th. A map will be available on the City's website and social media beginning February 12th. We hope this opportunity will provide a new and exciting family-friendly opportunity to celebrate the Mardi Gras Season. Participants will be able to enter their business or home into a fun photo contest to claim the "Best of Yardi Gras" award.

The Engineering Department has also worked hard to feature a heart garden for Valentine's Day weekend. February 12th-14th, the City will have a "Valentine's Heart Garden" set up on the water on the lot across from the Daniel Pratt Gin Company. If you want the perfect backdrop to capture photos during Valentine's weekend, this is the perfect spot for you.

"If you missed the opportunity to experience the magical light transformation from the Christmas season, here is your chance to enjoy some of the magic during this Mardi Gras season. I heard from numerous citizens and business owners who requested to enjoy the lights a little longer. We are living in a time where we, as a community, have to come together and think outside the box for ways to make memories as we continue battling the COVID-19 pandemic. I am thankful that we have a team in place that is willing to create an atmosphere for everyone to enjoy," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr.
