Barlow Recognized as Operator of the Year PDFPrintE-mail

Prattville Police Lieutenant Wayne Barlow, a member of the Prattville Police Department’s Special Operations Team, was recently honored as their 2009 Operator of the Year. Lt. Barlow has been with the Prattville Police Department since 1994, and assigned to the Special Operations Team since 2008 as a Marksman/Observer. Lt. Barlow was recognized by his team members for his commitment and dedication to the Prattville Police Department and the Special Operations Team.

The Special Operations Team is comprised of 11 highly and specially trained police officers and 2 medics from the Prattville Fire Department. This team is trained and prepared to address those incidents that are out of the normal scope of conventional law enforcement response such as high risk search and arrest warrants, fugitive recovery, active shooter, hostage and barricaded subject situations. The Special Operations Team also provides security for high profile, high risk public events. The team also conducts demonstrations for schools and civic groups and is active in public relations.
