November 29, 2012

The City of Prattville is going to try something a little different during this year's Christmas parade. Every year, our City photographer captures a photo of every float, but not this year. This year, the City is giving our citizens the opportunity to contribute their photos of the parade, the crowd and the excitement!

"We wanted to try something fun this year," stated Teresa Lee, Executive Assistant to the Mayor. "We allowed our residents to choose the Grand Marshal for the parade, so following in the spirit of that contest, we want them to submit their own photos."

Mayor Gillespie and his staff will choose the best of the photos submitted to be displayed in the Christmas parade album on the City website and the City Facebook page. The photo chosen as the Mayor's favorite will be proudly displayed in his office until next year's parade and Mayor Gillespie will have lunch with the winning photographer and present them with a letter of recognition.

So, take a photo of your family, the crowd, the floats, the lights and Santa at our Christmas parade on Saturday, December 1st at 4:30 p.m.! Submit your favorites to Teresa Lee by email, , or drop off a CD at the Mayor's Office in City Hall by Wednesday, December 5th at 5 p.m. We'll announce our winner by the end of the business day on December 7th. Good luck!
