During the City Council’s Special Session on Monday evening, November 21, the Prattville City Council voted to approve the hiring of new City Clerk Cathy Dickerson. This was no small feat for the interview panel. There were 57 applicants for the position; 17 were interviewed.

Cathy Dickerson has served as the City Clerk and Treasurer for the City of Union Springs since May 1995. Cathy has a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business from Tennessee Temple University and holds a Master Municipal Clerk Certification. She is actively involved in the Alabama Association of Municipal Clerks. She also serves on the Children’s Policy Council of Bullock County, the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council, South Central Alabama Development Commission, and the Union Springs Planning Commission. Cathy will begin serving as our City Clerk on December 7, 2011.

Ms. Dickerson stated that she is “excited for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Prattville.”
