City of Prattville Names Soccer Fields after Judge George Howell

Prattville, AL –The City of Prattville plans to dedicate the soccer fields at Upper Kingston Park this Saturday, October 7, 2017, in honor of the late Judge George Harper Howell.
Judge Howell was instrumental in developing a youth soccer program and in completing the soccer fields currently at Upper Kinston. He was an avid soccer player and coach and is noted for bringing the American Youth Soccer Organization to the Prattville community.
Judge Howell served as the City Judge for 19 years and the City Attorney for 8 years. “Judge Howell truly had a servant’s heart”, said Mayor Bill Gillespie. “It’s only fitting that our soccer fields be named and dedicated to him.”
The public is invited to attend the field dedication event at 10am this Saturday. For more information, please contact the City of Prattville Parks and Recreation Department at (334) 595-0800.
