Mayor Gillespie presented several military service members with Commendations on February 7, 2012 in recognition of their tours of duty in Iraq. His desire was to honor them publicly for their service to our country.

"We will never be able to thank these men and women enough for the sacrifices they have made for us and our great nation," stated Mayor Gillespie. "I hope in some small way we have demonstrated our appreciation and respect for each of them."

Just before reading the first proclamation, Mayor Gillespie addressed the group by saying, "I hope this Commendation means as much to you as it means to me."
