Mr. Reid Smith represented the Pratt Family and said a few words honoring his ancestor. Due to the balmy temperatures up on that hill yesterday afternoon, Smith joked that the family wishes Pratt had been born in February. Those in attendance not only celebrated the occasion of Daniel Pratt's 211th Birthday, but also the return to Prattville of an original 1800s Pratt Cotton Gin. Mr. William Crenshaw donated the restored gin to the Prattaugan Museum. It was put on display for this Homecoming celebration. If you missed the event, please enjoy the photos and the video (below). ACHA invites you to stop by the Museum to view the cotton gin and all of the other wonderful historical items on display there. To commemorate this significant event, during the month of July, the Autauga County Heritage Association is offering an 18 month membership of $50 per person. The Prattaugan Museum is located at 102 East Main Street in downtown Prattville. They can be reached at (334)361-0961 or by email at autaugaheritage@gmail.com. |

The Autauga County Heritage Association organized and held a "Homecoming Celebration" on July 20, 2010. Each year, on this date, the City of Prattville and the ACHA celebrate Founder's Day with a ceremony and wreath laying at Daniel Pratt's gravesite in Pratt Cemetery.
