For Immediate Release Contact: Pageant Director Kellie Cook, 358-0297 or kellie.cook@prattvilleal.gov The Miss Fountain City Pageant committee has announced that applications for the Rising Star mentoring program are now being accepted for the 2010-2011 year. The Rising Star’s mentoring program is open to girls, 7 -11 years of age, who live in Autauga County. The mentoring program, Shining Stars, is open to young ladies between the ages of 12 -14 years. Applications are available at www.missfountaincity.com. The registration fee is $40 and includes activities, parties, parades and a t-shirt. Participants of both groups will enjoy attending parties and participating in City of Prattville activities with Miss Fountain City throughout the year. Both will be featured at the Miss Fountain City Pageant on Sunday, July 18th at the Prattville High School. The Little Fountain City Pageants will be held on Friday, July 16th at the Prattville High School. Categories are: Tiny Miss – ages 1-3; Petite Miss- ages 4-6; Little Miss – ages 7-9 and Pre-Teen Miss, ages 10-12 years. These pageants are open to girls living in Autauga County. The Outstanding Teen Miss Fountain City Pageant will be held the following day, July 17th. This is an open pageant for young ladies, ages 13 to 17 yr. high school juniors, living in the state of Alabama. It is a preliminary pageant to the Miss Alabama/Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageants. The Miss Fountain City Scholarship Pageant, a preliminary to the Miss Alabama Pageant, is open to young ladies between the ages of 17 yr. old high school senior to 24 years, who live, work or go to school full time in the state of Alabama. The winner of the Miss Alabama pageant competes at the Miss America pageant. Applications for the Rising Star program are due no later than June 30th at the Prattville Cultural Arts Center.
