Beginning at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on Friday August 6, 2010, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday August 8, 2010, Alabama will hold its fifth annual sales tax holiday giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers, and clothing free of state sales or use tax.

Prattville's City Council passed an ordinance to give shoppers a local sales tax holiday on the weekend noted above.
