BUSINESS LICENSE:

A business license is required for commercial and residential-based businesses operating in the City of Prattville.  A business owner can apply by email (revenue@prattvilleal.gov), mail (101 West Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067) or in person.  Once approved, licenses will be mailed to the business on record.

Business licenses can be renewed beginning January 1.  The timely renewal period will be January 1 – January 31. View License Fee Schedule.

YARD SALES:

Residents wishing to hold a yard sale must first obtain a permit from the City of Prattville. A small issuance fee of $5.00 shall be charged for the permit. Only three permits within a calendar year shall be issued to the citizen and no such permit shall be issued for more than three consecutive calendar days.

Members of more than one residence may join in requesting a permit, but only one permit is required. Each household included in the permit shall be treated as having conducted a yard sale.

All yard sales must be conducted on the premises where the applicant resides, except churches and non-profit organizations, which are exempt from the fee, but still require a permit.

Signs advertising yard sales must not be placed on rights of way or utility poles. street or traffic signs. Any sign collected by the city is subject to a fine.

Yard sales held at a business location must have written approval from the business/property owner at the time of issuance of the yard sale permit.
