Prattville’s Way Off Broadway Theatre is excited to present Neil Simon’s classic comedy Brighton Beach Memoirs. This is a coming of age story about a young boy dreaming of baseball and girls while coping with his mundane existence. This bittersweet memoir evocatively captures the life of a struggling 1937 household in Brooklyn.
The production, presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, will be directed by Blair Dyson, who recently directed WOBT’s production of Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park. The play will open on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. and there will be an opening night reception to meet the cast afterward. The production will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through April 9, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2:00 p.m.
Brighton Beach Memoirs comes on the heels of Prattville’s very successful, sold-out production of Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird, directed by Sam Wallace, which ends this weekend.
