In honor and remembrance of our fellow Americans who lost their lives on this tragic day in American history, Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. has directed that flags at all city facilities be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
As an additional mark of respect, City personnel will join Woodmen of the World Lodge 298 and local elected officials for an "In Honor and Remembrance" ceremony at Prattville Fire Station 3, which is located at 1904 Briarwood Street. The ceremony will commence at 7:46 a.m. in acknowledgement of the moment the first plane hit the first tower on that fateful day.
"I encourage all Partners of Prattville to join me at Fire Station 3 for this event," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. "It is important that we collectively remember this day and pay tribute to our American heroes who perished. May we never forget."
