The City of Prattville decided to purchase its own “ice” skating rink after the success of the rented one from last year. The holiday attraction had nearly 10,000 participants and proved to be the most popular feature of the Christmas events.

“It was incredibly popular and we immediately knew we wanted to make it an annual event”, Kellie Cook, Parks and Recreation Director said.  “Knowing that we would offer it each year, it seemed more financially responsible to purchase our own instead of continuing to rent one.”

The “ice” skating rink will open to the public in conjunction with the Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 1stand will remain open nightly during the month of December. The cost is $5 per person for a 30-minute time slot, and includes skates.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses to promote themselves to thousands of people during the holiday season. Package options vary and include skating passes, sponsor banners and more.
