Events, photos, and attractions are showcased using Pinterest. Videos recorded by the City of Prattville are on the City's YouTube Channel.

What is it? Facebook is a social networking website where individuals can add people as friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves, what they are doing and their interests. Users can upload photos, video, comment on other's pages, play games, support elected officials, causes, celebrities and much more. Users can join networks organized by workplace, school, or college. These networks or organizations have "fans" or "likes" rather than friends.
What does the City of Prattville page look like? Our official page is branded with the City of Prattville's seal. Our postings (news, events, announcements) are found in the center column called the "wall." Tabs, a familiar navigation technique, include Info (general information including our address, office hours, and various website links); Photos (those photos that have been uploaded to represent an event, news article, or announcement); Events (event announcements); and Video (uploaded event commercials, event footage, or press conferences).
What can you do there? City of Prattville Facebook fans can read and comment on City announcements, events, and news. You may post questions and comments. Our administrator will get you information or answers to your questions or forward your information to the person who can assist you. Please be courteous and refrain from the use of profanity on our page.

What is it? Twitter is a micro-blogging service. Messages you post are called "tweets." Each tweet is limited to 140 characters. Tweets can be announcements, comments, or any bit of information that needs to be sent out. Our typical tweet contains a link to a press release, a newsletter, a photo or more information on our website. Twitter is a great way to share and discover what is happening right now. Tweets are publicly visible by default, however, senders can restrict message delivery to their friends list. Users may subscribe to other author tweets, which is known as following and subscribers are known as followers. Users can send and receive tweets via Twitter.com or use one of a number of external applications (such as TweetDeck, HootSuite, Twitterrific, etc.).
What does the City of Prattville Twitter page look like? Our official page is branded with the City of Prattville seal. We announce events, meetings, and press releases. We keep our followers up to date on Autauga EMA weather announcements as well.
What can you do there? Once you have created your twitter account by navigating to Twitter.com and clicking sign up, you may "follow" the City of Prattville as well as people or other organizations of interest. When you "follow" someone, their tweets appear in your Twitter feed (when you are on your "home" page on Twitter.com). If you click on Profile at the top of the page, it will show you only the tweets you have posted. Twitter is a great way to gather information in one place. (For example, our webmaster follows other webmasters and professional groups which posts items of interest to her position with the City of Prattville. Our Mayor and City Councilmen follow other political officials or organizations that speak about items of interest for our community or their professional development. Instead of visiting a number of sites each day, the information comes to us in one concise manner from which we can determine whether to click a link to learn more or move on to the next post. It's a great time saver!)

What does the City of Prattville Pinterest page look like? Our official page is branded with the City of Prattville seal. We showcase events, photography, and attractions. We keep our followers up to date on what is happening in our community.
What can you do there? Once you have created your pinterest account by navigating to Pinterest.com and clicking sign up, you may "follow" the City of Prattville as well as people or other organizations of interest. When you "follow" us, you are notified through twitter or facebook that we've added content to our Pinterest boards. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

What does the City of Prattville Government Branded YouTube Channel look like? Our official branded channel is branded with the City of Prattville seal. We post press conferences, announcements, events, and information deemed helpful to our residents.
What can you do there? You may subscribe to our channel which will cause you to be notified when we upload a new video. You may view our offerings there and comment on their content.
How to sign up. Navigate your browser to YouTube.com and choose "Create Account." You do not, however, need an account to view our video offerings.

What is it? Instagram is a site/app where you view photos.
What does the City of Prattville Government Instagram page look like? Our official page/account is branded with the City of Prattville seal. We post photos that are deemed informational, entertaining and helpful to our residents.
What can you do there? You may follow our account and our photos will show in your app feed on your mobile device.
How to sign up. Open your app store on your mobile device and download the Instagram app. Register by email or Facebook account. You may find us here: www.instagram.com/PrattvilleALgov and select "Follow" to be able to see our photos.
